We are happy to offer OFA X Rays and OFA Thyroid testing for your pet or performance dog. We provide sedation free X Rays whenever possible. Our vet techs will safely hold your pet during the x rays to keep them comfortable and well positioned for their OFA X rays. We screen for hip and elbow dysplasia and our patients have successfully had Excellent and Normal OFA X Rays for their certification. We have partnered with MSU to offer OFA thyroid testing as well.
As an owner of performance and show dogs, Dr. Hardoon knows the importance of making sure your dog is healthy and genetically free of diseases for your breeding program.
The OFA or Orthopedic Foundation for Animals was founded in 1966, with the mission to promote the health and welfare of companion animals through a reduction in the incidence of genetic disease. OFA believes in the health of purebred dogs. The OFA provides recommended tests dependent on breed. Once your dog completes all the recommended tests OFA will provide you with a CHIC (Canine Health Information Certification) number and will be part of the breed database.
